North Devon is one of England's darkest areas, most nights we see thousands of stars overhead.
With a simple pair of binoculars you can view the Milky Way in all its glory, along with distant galaxies and sparkling star clusters and you can even see the rings of Saturn.
It is estimated that 80% of British people cannot see the Milky Way from where they live.
However, in Hartland, with the sea on one side and no large towns within 20 miles in any direction the night skies on the Hartland Peninsula are truly spectacular.
In the winter the Milky Way is clearly visible as is the Andromeda Galaxy.
The Hartland Peninsula is a must for Astronomy fans and is widely discussed as one of the best star viewing areas in the UK. If you are interested in the skies above us or space and want to bring your telescope you are welcome, alternatively just sit outside with a glass of wine or beer and enjoy the spectacular view above you.
